Over the last five years Castlemilk Budgeting Services has been assisting individuals with debt problems in Castlemilk. Our service has now extended to cover the whole of Glasgow and we are currently helping over 100 clients to pay back over £12,000 per month in debts.

Working closely with Law Centres, Glasgow City Council and other organisations in the community CBS provides financial management to people with rent and council tax arrears and other debts:

Managing people's finances

Paying off creditors

Paying off utilities; rent, gas, electricity

Negotiating with creditors

 

Over the last five years, Castlemilk Budgeting Services has assisted tenants of local housing associations pay off over £175,000 in rent arrears.

We currently pay:

Rent arrears Mortgage arrears
Consumer credit
Fines
Taxes
Utility bills

NO DEBT TOO LARGE OR TOO SMALL!

Castlemilk Budgeting Services receives clients from the whole of Glasgow. Some are referred from local Housing Associations or Community Organisations, others are members of the local Credit Union and are reffered to us.

Castlemilk Budgeting Services was presented with the Investors In People award in June 2003.

The Budgeting Service works closely with Castlemilk Credit Union and other local Credit Unions.

The vision for the Castlemilk Budgeting Service Project is:

"The Castlemilk Budgeting Service will alleviate poverty and assist its clients towards debt free lives through the provision of advice and a range of appropriate financial facilities."

Castlemilk Budgeting Services is a voluntary unincorporated association with a Management Committee and a constitution and it is formerly recognised by the Inland Revenue as a Scottish Charity.

Since 2000 Budgeting Service has demonstrated its ability to provide professional, innovative and effective services to local people and continues to meet its targets to date
