ABOUT BUDGETING SERVICES

Budgeting Services was established in 1999 as a free, independent and confidential service helping people who find themselves in financial difficulty to overcome the ongoing cycle of poverty.  Since that time we have helped hundreds of individuals take control of their finances.

The aims of the service:

·        To support individuals in making payments to their creditors; consumer credit, bank loans, rent and council tax arrears.

·        To support vulnerable people pay their ongoing liabilities ie: gas, electricity, telephone bill

·        to prevent legal action and evictions

·        to take the stress out of making payments

·        to prevent people feeling pressurised by debt letters and reminders

·        to help people manage their finances if they feel they need that level of support and where it is appropriate

·        The service can also be used simply as a bill payment service by clients who have problems managing money.

Once the client’s financial situation stabilises they can gradually regain control of their finances, as they feel able.

Who can benefit from our service?

The service is free and available to anyone in Glasgow who finds themselves in financial difficulty and would like assistance in managing their money.

The service can be of particular value to people in crisis, those with rent or council tax arrears, individuals with mental health issues, or additional needs, lone parents, long-term unemployed or those moving into work after a long period of unemployment.
